    Notes

    • Economic lockout is about cost. If your heat pump can’t meet load below a certain temp (thermal balance), use that higher temp as the switchover.
    • Confirm model submittals: ensure capacity at your design temperature and set strips/furnace logic accordingly.
    • Weatherization (air sealing & insulation) lowers the balance point and often improves ROI.
